What lenders tend to look at
Income, existing debts and your credit history come up often. Each lender weighs them its own way.
Most lenders want a sense of whether a new repayment would fit around what you already pay. So they ask what comes in each month, what goes out to other debts, and how past borrowing has gone. Some also ask how long you've been in your job or at your address.
No two lenders read the same answers the same way. One may say no where another makes an offer, and a no from one says little about the next. It helps to give the figures as they are, not as you'd like them to be.
